Learning Japanese

Many Japanese do not know English at all and those who do are often not very fluent. This gives the foreigner who speaks Japanese huge advantage when dealing with the Japanese, both for business and tourism. If you work in the tourism industry, speaking Japanese is a very important asset when dealing with the large flows of Japanese tourists. Japanese has a very high chic factor, because it is known as a complex and difficult language and if you master it - people will think you are smart. All Japanese do know a standard language that is taught in schools and used in the media so no matter what Japanese you learn, you will be understood all over the country. Japanese is very complicated, mainly because of the writing system whereas the spoken language is actually pretty simple. The pronunciation is very easy (except the Japanese R) and irregularities are very rare.
